Information You Submit
Partner search terms
A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the independent provider that operates that tool. We do not store or log those terms on our systems.
Messages sent to us
We retain an email or contact submission as needed to read it and respond. We do not share that message outside our organization unless the law requires disclosure.
Automatic Technical Data
A page request may create basic technical records, including:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device type and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent;
- the referring page, when supplied; and
- date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies may help measure visits and understand which pages work well. Browser controls can reject or erase them, though parts of the site may then work differently.
How Data Supports the Site
Collected data may be used to operate and speed up pages, pass a requested search to the right partner, measure useful content, diagnose faults, prevent misuse, and display advertising that may reflect a visitor’s interests.
Privacy Beyond Our Pages
Links lead to the Cedar County Sheriff’s roster and records page, Iowa courts and corrections services, federal locators, news sources, and independent search tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination’s privacy rules control. Advertising providers may also measure activity across sites on their own systems.
When Data May Be Shared
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be available to:
- search partners processing a submitted query;
- analytics vendors measuring use;
- advertising networks serving or measuring ads; and
- law-enforcement or government authorities acting under a valid legal demand.
Reasonable Security Measures
We use common safeguards suited to the data handled. No website, network, or online storage system can be promised to be completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Get in Touch page to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law, a person may ask for a copy of personal data we hold, request a correction or deletion, or object to certain processing. Send the request through Get in Touch. Iowa public records held by agencies follow Iowa Code Chapter 22 and must be addressed with the official custodian, not this site.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this privacy notice as practices or legal duties change. The current version and its effective date will be posted on this page.
